G&A Named One of the ‘Best Places to Work’ in San Antonio Again
G&A Partners has been named one of San Antonio’s best places to work for the second year in a row by the San Antonio Business Journal (SABJ). San Antonio is the second most populated city in Texas and the seventh largest city in the U.S. according to 2020 Census data.
G&A’s debut on the list came in July 2020 during the first summer of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the economic hardship the firm and its clients were experiencing at that time, no furloughs or layoffs were made at G&A. In fact, as of August 2021, G&A Partners has added more than 100 employees to its roster and has acquired XMI, another professional employer organization (PEO), in Nashville, Tennessee.
Employees have been able to continue working from home since March 17, 2020, with few exceptions. They have the option to return to the office if they like, and the firm allows office employees to work a hybrid schedule consisting of some days in the office and others at home if they like as well—a practice it plans to keep in place after all employees return in February 2022 or when it is deemed safe to do so.
To keep up employee morale and a positive workplace culture during the pandemic, the company offers virtual yoga and cooking classes as well as after-work get-togethers and virtual lunches and coffee breaks. Managers at G&A check in with their team frequently during one-on-one Zoom or Teams video calls to ensure employees have the resources and assistance they need to perform their best.
“One of our Living, Breathing Values is ‘Put People First,’ and we have embraced it,” says Grace Jaén, Regional Manager for San Antonio and the firm’s Vice President of Health and Welfare. “Leadership knows that a great employee is a pillar of success.”
Jaén attended SABJ’s Best Places to Work ceremony in San Antonio on August 6, 2021, to accept the award on the firm’s behalf.
