G&A Partners Named One of the ‘Healthiest Employers of Texas’
G&A Partners has been recognized as one of the 2021 Healthiest Employers of Texas, an awards program created to honor people-first organizations that prioritize the well-being of their employee population. This is the second year the firm has been honored by this program and it ranked seventh in the midsize group of employers.
G&A was recognized because of our commitment to workplace wellness and our exceptional health and benefits offerings. We use our Evolve™ platform to collect employee recognition submissions, provide Health Risk Assessments (HRA), and schedule annual biometric screenings to measure clinical improvements among our employees. This system promotes wellness, provides help navigating life’s challenges, and offers special perks and incentives such as discounts on medical insurance premiums when employees achieve certain goals.
“At G&A Partners we are a family and we strive to take care of each other—our Evolve™ wellness program is just one of the ways in which we do that,” says G&A Partners President and CEO John W. Allen. “We also provide a weekly, anonymous employee survey and encourage our employees to share their ideas—on the record or off—for how we can improve our workplace culture.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, employees were provided with the means to work remotely in March 2020. Many changes were implemented at that time to preserve the fun and social aspects of G&A’s culture, including virtual coffee breaks, virtual yoga, online fitness competitions, and an expansion to the internal online social platform, The Bridge, which highlights individual employees and provides a way for their colleagues to get to know them better on an informal level.
A few other new initiatives, including a paid Wellness Day for employees to take a break from the grind for their mental health, a CARE fund that allows employees to submit anonymous applications for financial support during times of need, and an additional day off over the holiday season, were also implemented. They complemented G&A’s existing Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which offers employees and their immediate family members counseling and support services.
In 2021, employees were given the option to return to work at the office, remain working from home, or a combination of the two as the firm transitioned into a hybrid work environment.
