G&A Partners Ranked No. 16 by Houston Business Journal as a Best Place to Work in 2022
G&A Partners, which has just over 230 employees working in its Houston-based corporate headquarters, was named the city’s No. 16 “Best Place to Work” (large category) by the Houston Business Journal (HBJ) with a score of 89.86.
The HBJ award is determined based entirely on feedback from employees submitted via anonymous surveys.
“Before the pandemic, our office was usually buzzing with over 150 employees. Today, only about 30 employees regularly use the space," said Michelle Mikesell, chief people officer for G&A Partners. "Despite the changes and challenges that the pandemic and other worldwide events have brought, our team (in Houston and our other offices across the country) has continued to thrive and support our clients. We've adapted and grown together."
Despite G&A's workforce primarily working remotely due to the after-effects of the pandemic, Mikesell prided the company on maintaining a thriving company culture filled with internal events and team-building activities with more to come in 2023.
"Over the past 12 months, G&A has implemented and retained several initiatives to improve benefit and perk offerings and to support employees," Mikesell said. "G&A's Employee Experience Council (EXC) was formed compiling five Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that operate as part of the EXC. These ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups that aim to foster and help maintain a diverse, inclusive workplace. They include: Helping Hands, Wellness Warriors, Confetti Crew, YOUnify, and With Women.
"The ERGs found several virtual ways to boost morale in all of our office locations including weekly virtual health-related classes for employees such as yoga, HIIT, strength training, and healthy cooking classes; weekly Wellness Wednesday videos that share tips, ideas, and experiences employees have used to find physical, mental, nutritional, or financial health; and virtual events and parties to celebrate holidays and big accomplishments across the company. Employees and leadership share kudos for their colleagues in an online community called The Bridge, and then those kudos are shared in an employee newsletter and, on occasion, during the quarterly town hall. These efforts, combined with an amazing team of employees, make G&A one of the best places to work in Houston and across the nation."
